Leading up to Easter we had lots of craft making and preparing the home with Easter decorations. The residents and staff received their second COVID vaccine and we had a poetry session thinking about spring and Easter and the residents made up a poem based on these themes.

Easter

At Easter time we remember

The man on the cross who gave his life

for spring and everything

Was Jesus, who blessed the land and fields

So each year we have yields

At Easter time we remember

How the snowdrops appear through frozen earth

The golden daffodils nodding their heads

Bluebells grow in swathes through the woods

Perhaps we don't appreciate them as we should

At Easter time we remember

The lambs in the fields dancing by day

The birds singing sweetly building their nests

Nobody seems to be taking a rest

Everybody is doing their best

At Easter time we remember

The feasts we enjoy with family around

Chocolate bunnies are there to enjoy by every adult, girl and boy

Eggs seem to appear in every size

And we relax into the year with a spring in our stride.
