The church in Stockland had an open morning where we could go and see what progress had been done with the renovation work, so we went and had a look, we didn't take up the offer of going up the scaffolding, but it was very interesting to see what had been done.
Our vicar Jan held a lovely church service, and at the end of the month Ewan did some lovely pieces on his classical piano.
We had a variety of musicians visit this month. Chris our organist kicked it off with quite a variety of tunes and some printed song sheets so we could sing along. Then Chris our guitar player, came and sang some very familiar tunes for us to join in with. Andy also visited and played his guitar with Micky, so two guitars and two great singing voices with tunes and songs we all knew.
Despite the heat we managed to have plenty of time outside with the trees providing a shady spot to sit.
We had Nick visit again with his dog Laddie and another classic car, which everyone thought was very smart because of the polished brass. Claire brought one of her friendly hedgehogs again which are also a joy to see.
We enjoyed a car trip to Stogumber Station and had some tea and cake and watched a couple of diesel trains go by, the steam ones had stopped at this point because of the risk of starting a fire. Everyone said they enjoyed the trip, so we will do it again when the steam trains are up and running.
Our young volunteer Will came back for a few days which the residents enjoyed, and Jo did a lovely reminiscing session in the garden.
