The highlight of the week was of course VE Day which was also one of our resident’s birthday. The garden was decorated with bunting and the afternoon began with a wonderful sing a long in the garden with our resident musician doing a marvellous job playing the organ for us again. Louise, our activities co-ordinator then did a quiz based on World War Two, with questions around gas masks, the blitz, rationing and so on. There was much discussion on different memories.

The afternoon finished with everyone singing happy birthday to Stella who celebrated her 98th birthday, before enjoying tea and the wonderful cake that one of our talented cooks made to celebrate VE Day and Stella’s birthday.
