In art and craft our topics focused on light. Residents made pictures out of tissue paper, laminated between two sheets of plastic and then framed in black. They could be put on a window or were very effective against a light background. We covered jam jars with tissue paper and napkins, added ribbon, lace, raffia, buttons and other objects. We put a handle on the jar which could be hung up with lights inside, or to hold flowers as a vase.
We have continued pottering in the garden, dead heading and tidying up, it certainly keeps those fit who take part. Residents enjoy the whole garden every day, from looking at the flowers and watching the different birds coming and going. There are now a new family of pheasants coming into the garden, with at least eight chicks growing fast, it's lovely watching them change into adults.
The potatoes, runner beans and beetroot are all being enjoyed by both residents and staff and the tomatoes are ripening well and should be ready soon.
