We have had a great month for music. Simon our country singer came at the beginning of the month and sang an interesting selection of songs.
Andy played us some tunes with his guitar and ukulele to sing along to, and on another occasion, Chris played the organ with a selection of musicals and other well-known tunes.
Hazel, our wonderful harpist played some lovely Celtic tunes, one of our residents even had a go and strung together a tune. We had a new musician who sang and played the guitar to a variety of tunes from the 50s, 60s and 70s, he was very upbeat, and went down well with staff and residents, so we look forward to his next performance.
Jan, our Vicar gave a lovely and well attended church and communion service which everyone enjoyed.
One evening our activities co-ordinator; Louise took some residents out to Otterhampton village hall to hear some performers sing songs from the fifties to noughties. It was a lovely evening, and the residents enjoyed it.
There has been lots of time for other games too. One of our volunteers Suzanne had some good games of scrabble with residents. Another of our volunteers; Joan came in to do some reminiscing. We played the tray game, hangman and Who am I, and of course a game or two of Bingo.
The garden is still doing well with plenty of carrots still being harvested.
We had an unannounced food hygiene inspection from the Environmental Protection Agency and are very pleased to retain our five-star food hygiene rating. Thank you to all the kitchen, care and domestic staff for ensuring our high standards are maintained.
