Easter in the home has been a busy time for residents to make the decorations to put around The Vicarage. During one session the residents made nests out of willow, grasses and a bit of ribbon with feathers and moss in the centre for the eggs to rest on. After Easter we thought we could put them outside and birds might even make use of them.
During another session we made little chicks to go in the nests to sit on chocolate eggs, everyone thought they looked really good. Some residents made Easter cards for their loved ones. We also made beautiful Easter Bonnets for a fun competition. The bonnets were judged by the staff without knowing who had made which ones. There were prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd but all the bonnets were impressive.
The residents also enjoyed a lovely Easter Service.
The gardening sessions are going well and we have re-potted our seedlings into larger pots ready to go in the greenhouse. We're making plans for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee so watch this space for more news.
