We thoroughly enjoyed participating in the art and craft exhibition and then going to see all the exhibits, including our own. All the residents enjoyed meeting other villagers, talking about the exhibits and meeting the author and watching his video on local flora and fauna of Steart. Then to be able to sit outside on a lovely summers day and enjoy tea and cake was, as they say, the icing on the cake. Thank you to everyone who organised it and may we look forward to other such events.
In art and craft we were inspired by the art exhibition demonstrators and created some pictures which we thought would be good to turn into fans. Water was put on some water colour paper and inks were added which created their own patterns, the results were very effective and the residents will be trying the technique again.
With the weather staying dry and sunny we have had many an activity sitting under the trees in the garden, often with a light breeze. All our vegetables are coming along well, with this warm weather even our peppers are turning red.
We had an interesting folk music morning, listening to a CD called 'Spell songs' based on a book called 'Spell Words and The Lost Spells', which are songs based on nature like our art and craft exhibition, 'Spell words, it's poems and artistry' is now an important book to be found on every primary school shelf.
We had a lovely communion church service, with Stan playing the organ for us, and thoroughly enjoyed singing the hymns.
We have had our usual activities of games and quizzes, and butterfly time which is activities suited to individual residents. Residents have been walking down through the village, although this month we have had to dodge the 'too hot' days.
